Application Instructions for International Medical Students

Below you will see an overview of the financial aid application process for international medical students.

Incoming Medical Students

1. Complete the Need Access Form by March 15

Complete the following required items:

  • 2012-13 Need Access Form
    • Incoming international students are only required to complete the Need Access form. Please make sure you select "Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine" on the Need Access Form.
    • Submit the form electronically via the Need Access website.

2. Northwestern will determine your financial aid eligibility and aid package

Your aid package will generally include an "Outside Agency Loan" only. For information about loan programs available to International Students, please visit the Student Financial Services website and scroll down to "Loans for International Students".  

All applications will be reviewed in the order they were received.

3. Accept or decline your award package

Our office will begin sending financial award decision e-mails on a rolling basis beginning April 1, 2012.

4. Complete the required documents as outlined on your Award Notification email.

Continuing International Medical Students

1. Complete the University Aid Application by April 1, 2012

  • Access the 2012-13 University Aid Application via your "TO DO" list on your CAESAR homepage.

2. Northwestern will determine your financial aid eligibility and aid package

3. Accept or Decline your award package as directed on your Award Notification email.

4. Complete the required documents as outlined on your Award Notification email.
