Application Instructions for International Law Students
Below you will see an overview of the financial aid application process for international School of Law Students.
Incoming International Students:
1. Complete the 2012-13 Need Access form.
The 2012-13 Need Access Application is available online at http://www.needaccess.org as of January 2, 2012. All students must submit the 2012-13 Need Access Application by February 1, 2012 to ensure that our office receives your Need Access data by the March 1, 2012 deadline. Be sure to select Northwestern University School of Law. International students are only required to complete this form.
2. Northwestern will determine your financial aid eligibility and aid package
All applications will be reviewed in the order they were received.
3. Accept or decline your award package
Our office will begin sending financial award decision e-mails on a rolling basis beginning June 15, 2012.

4. Apply for a private loan via your lender's website.
Additional information regarding this step of the financial aid process will be included in your award notification email.
Returning International Students:
1. Complete the University Aid Application by May 1, 2012
Complete the 2012-13 University Aid Application online via CAESAR. You may access this form on your "TO DO" list on the right side of your CAESAR homepage.
2. Northwestern will determine your financial aid eligibility and aid package
All applications will be reviewed in the order they were received.
3. Accept or decline your award package
Our office will begin sending financial aid award notification e-mails on a rolling basis beginning June 15, 2012. If you have demonstrated institutional financial need, your financial aid package may include a combination of student loans.

4. Apply or Re-apply for your private loan of choice through the lender's website.
If you have been offered the NU Loan - GPAL on your award notice, you must complete the NU Loan - GPAL online. This online application must be completed each academic year in order to receive funds for this loan. Additional information about this process will be included on your Award Notification email.
